Forcety - GAW #3

Hello again, this is the third game.

Think First

The biggest thing I learned this time, no doubt, is to think before you waste your precious hours. The first iteration of this idea was pretty bad, but I didn't think and just went head-first into prototyping. Normally this works, it did the last 3 times, but not this time. I ended up wasting something like 6 hours until I realised that the idea was pretty bad, deleted all of my code, thought a bit, and then made the prototype of the the end product in about 3 hours. Thanks brain.

GDScript, Again

Last week I talked about my adventure learning GDScript, and I made it no secret that I would still work in C#, well, I jinxed myself. I joined my first game jam because I've wanted to for a while, and it lined up with my start and end dates. It's been cool so far and has definitely helped me to make this game, a requirement though, is a web build. I was going to get into web builds sooner or later, so I thought that it's cool I get to do it sooner rather than later. I soon learned, however, that in Godot 4, web builds do not work with C#. Damn, yet another project in GDScript.

That's pretty much it for this one, I focused on a short but sweet game, and I think I did a pretty good job with the level design. Something I learned with Ccel is that trying to force more levels when you can't think of any usually nets you bad levels, so I only made levels that I knew were good. Ciao.
